If you ever feel tired in the middle of the afternoon and are inverting letters when you write, or you are having trouble getting your words right, its possible that you just need to balance your brain hemispheres for better synchronization. There are some very simple activities that can do to help.
Children benefit from learning to do these activities as well. You can teach them and do it together as a beneficial daily energizing.
To help with inverted letters and being tongue-tied try the following. Stand in one position and raise your left knee and tap it with your right hand then alternate by raising your right knee and tap it with your left hand.Continue to do this for a count of ten or twenty. This activity causes your hands and legs to cross over your body midline and alternates right and left brain activity, thereby causing better synchronization and co-ordination.
Another variation of this is to clasp both hands together and draw large horizontal figure eights in the air in front of yourself. Again, this causes a cross-over in the middle of the body, engaging both sides of the brain.
If you are feeling fatigued and are having trouble listening and concentrating, this can help. Using both of your hands simultaneously, hold your ears on the top outside edge and gently tug and uncurl them backwards and downwards with a soft touch. This shouldn't hurt or be uncomfortable. This is a trigger point for alerting you to pay attention. It is a mild pick-me-up. Try it, you'll see what I mean.
And finally, a simple thing to energize yourself is to massage a vitality point used in accupressure. On your hands, between your thumb and index finger is a sensitive point where the "v" forms at the joint. Gently rub this spot on both hands until the spot isn't as sensitive.
